4 lasius niger queens
I have 4 lasius niger queens in tubes. All of them have brood, one of them has 3 pupa one naked and the other two not lol weird. Another queen has lots of brood including one big larva and the rest have only eggs but they still have quite a lot of them. When the first ants hatch I'm going to put them in a see through box with a bit of sand in it with food and water, then with a tube going to connect it to an ant world.
I'm going to keep this posted on how the queens are doing.....

Re: 4 lasius niger queens
Maybe cause of temps, humidity in their tube ammount of exposure to light, maybe one was prepared to raise young and the other one wasn't.

Re: 4 lasius niger queens
something strange happened
my queens were next to the radioter and i when i checked on them some kind of liquid had went over all of the brood and then froze them, and all the queens were in a corner lol
so i went on a recuie mission and got the queens out and put them into nice new tubes with a lot more water. The stuff holding the brood had turned into liquid again so i managed to get the brood out and put them back with the queens.
now they are in a cupboard in the dark so hopefully it wont happen again =]

Re: 4 lasius niger queens
I would reframe from putting them in a basin until theres 3-5 workers around. Just feed them from the tube for a while so there's no complications of losing workers etc.
